Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. Discretion is a core value of my practice. I take "before and after" photos purely as an internal tool to track our progress and maintain precision. These images are for our private use and are never shared publicly.
No. To maintain a focused and professional environment, I do not use social media for my practice. I find those platforms can create unnecessary pressure and distraction, and I prefer to keep my attention entirely on the quiet, private work we do within your home.
No. It is actually more helpful for me to see the space in its natural, daily state. This allows me to understand where the current friction is and how you truly live in the home.
I only work with households where the occupants are personally ready and willing to participate. For the process to be successful and respectful, the invitation must come from the person living in the space.
Nine Spaces reflects the idea that a home is not a single environment, but a set of interconnected areas shaping how you live within it. The number nine represents completeness—eight directions and the center—bringing structure and balance to the whole.
While related, these services serve different purposes:
Decluttering is the process of reducing excess and clearing the mental weight of things you no longer need.
Organizing is about creating order with what remains, ensuring your belongings are arranged so daily life is easier to manage.
Feng Shui looks at the space itself—how the structure and orientation of your home affect your clarity and balance.
In short:
Decluttering = reducing excess
Organizing = creating order
Feng Shui = evaluating the space itself
Logical, practical, and resourceful. I focus on function first and visual calm second. Everything is shaped around how you actually live rather than imposed external standards or trends.
Yes. Feng Shui, Space Clearing, and Ki Mapping are offered as distinct services. This allows the work to remain clear in scope. While organizing is hands-on labor, Feng Shui is environmental guidance based on the structural and energetic qualities of your home.
Nine Spaces is a solo practice. I conduct all sessions personally to ensure discretion, consistency, and a direct connection with you.
Either approach is possible. Some clients prefer to work side-by-side, while others prefer me to guide the process. The structure depends on the space and your comfort level.
We move at your pace. Decluttering and organizing can be tiring, both physically and emotionally. If you need a break or want to end a session early, we simply adjust. The goal is progress without burnout.
There is no fixed timeline. Duration depends on the volume of items, the pace of decision-making, emotional attachment, and the complexity of the space. Some areas resolve quickly while others benefit from multiple sessions.
We begin with one session. Afterward, we can assess what remains and determine if additional time would be helpful for you.
No extensive preparation is necessary. I only ask that the space is safe and accessible, and that any firearms are unloaded and securely stored.
No. I recommend starting with what you already have. We use your existing bins or baskets first to test how a space functions. Only after the volume is clear do we decide if a deliberate investment in new containers is actually necessary.
We sort items into categories such as keep, relocate, donate, recycle, or discard. When possible, gently used items may be directed to local donation programs supporting families, shelters, and community organizations.
A small list of donation pathways is available here.
Because recycling options vary by county and material type, a small set of recycling locators is provided here for your convenience.
I work in Northern Virginia, generally within 15 miles of Falls Church. If you are nearby, you are welcome to reach out to see if I can help.
A credit card deposit confirms your appointment, and the remaining balance is due at the end of each session. I accept Visa, PayPal, Zelle, and Venmo.
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with 24–48 hours’ notice may be subject to a partial fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged the full session rate.
